JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Copyrighter
Reporting to: Creative Director
Location: Swangz Avenue HQ, Kampala

Job Purpose:
The Copywriter will be responsible for crafting compelling brand messages, ad copy, and digital content
that aligns with Swangz Avenue’s voice and storytelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write engaging copy for social media, ads, press releases, and website content and all copyright support for all business units.
  • Develop artist bios, event descriptions, and brand narratives.
  • Collaborate with the design and PR teams to create impactful campaigns.
  • Craft persuasive ad scripts for TV, radio, and digital.
  • Ensure messaging is consistent across all business units.
  • Continuously analyze industry trends, audience preferences, and competitor content to ensure Swangz Avenue remains a creative leader.
  • Uphold Swangz Avenue’s values by ensuring all messaging aligns with our mission and maintains a professional, ethical tone.
  • Develop fresh ideas and experiment with new writing styles, tones, and storytelling techniques to keep content exciting and relevant.
  • Accept feedback with a growth mindset, refine copy based on team input, and uphold high editorial standards.
  • Track engagement metrics to understand what works best and refine strategies accordingly.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3 years of experience in copywriting, preferably in entertainment or advertising.
  • Strong command of language and storytelling.
  • Experience writing for music, events, and branded content.
  • Understanding of SEO and digital content best practices.
    Ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
