JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:  Content Creator & Digital Marketer
Reporting to:  Head of Marketing
Location:  Swangz Avenue HQ, Kampala

Job Type:  Full-Time

Job Purpose:
To enhance Double Black’s online presence by creating and executing content strategies that engage
millennials and Gen Z, showcasing the band’s unique cultural identity and musical style.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and produce high-quality visual content (e.g., videos, photos, animations, live sessions) that aligns with Double Black’s brand and musical direction.
  • Create engaging content for various social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc.) including song renditions, behind-the-scenes footage, and promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with the band members and management to brainstorm content ideas and ensure timely execution.
  • Adapt content for different platforms and audiences to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Maintain a consistent brand aesthetic and voice across all content.
    Develop and implement a content distribution strategy across relevant social media platforms and online channels.
  • Utilize social media marketing tools and techniques to optimize content reach and engagement.
  • Manage and grow the band’s social media presence, including community engagement and interaction.
  • Track and analyze content performance, using data to inform future content strategies and optimize results.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends and best practices, particularly in the music industry.
  • Research and experiment with new content formats and platforms to expand the band’s reach.
  • Work closely with the artist manager and other team members to ensure content aligns with overall marketing and promotional goals.
  • Communicate effectively with the band members to coordinate content creation and obtain necessary assets.
  • Collaborate with external partners, influencers, and other artists to expand content reach and create collaborative opportunities.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in creating high-quality visual content, specifically video production and editing.
  • Proficiency in using content creation tools and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, graphic design tools).
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling techniques and ability to adapt content for different platforms.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for music and the ability to translate musical ideas into engaging visual content.

Digital Marketing:

  • Deep understanding of social media marketing strategies and best practices across various platforms.
  • Experience in managing and growing social media communities.
  • Knowledge of content scheduling and social media management tools.
  • Ability to analyze data and use insights to inform content strategies and optimize performance.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing trends and emerging technologies in the music industry.
